How many words is it?
Paste your text, or just type a count. We'll name the package that holds it. Pasted text stays in your browser. It never gets sent to us.
Nothing is uploaded. Close the tab and it's gone.
No count handy? In Word, the status bar shows the word total. A typical page runs about 225 words.
For Chinese and Japanese source text, count characters and divide by about 1.8 to get word equivalents.
Add a count and we'll name the package.

Workplace and HRThe shop floor
Picture a plant on the south side. The crew reads Spanish, Hmong or Arabic. The lockout notice on the press is in English. The handbook is in English. So is the onboarding deck, and the new hires start Monday.
That’s the job we built the workplace line for: one vendor for the notice, the handbook and the training deck, with one glossary so “shift lead” is the same word on page 3 and page 30.
We translate; we don’t train, audit or certify compliance.
What a review pass changes
A first draft is usually close. Close isn't the same as finished. Here's what the second linguist changed in this notice:
Terms.A machine guard is a guarda. A guardia is a security guard.
Words.Power is energía here. Potencia is horsepower.
Tone."Antes de que usted limpie" becomes "Antes de limpiar". Short commands, the way a notice at a press talks.
English → Spanish · about 55 words · Safety notice & signage set
First draft
PELIGRO: CIERRE REQUERIDO. Antes de que usted limpie, despeje un atasco o abra una guardia en la Línea de Prensa 2, apague la potencia y ponga su propio candado y etiqueta en la desconexión. Solamente la persona que puso un candado puede quitarlo. ¿No está seguro? Pregunte a su supervisor antes de que toque la máquina.
After review
PELIGRO: BLOQUEO OBLIGATORIO. Antes de limpiar, despejar un atasco o abrir una guarda en la Línea de Prensa 2, corte la energía y ponga su propio candado y su etiqueta en el interruptor de desconexión. Solo quien puso un candado puede quitarlo. ¿No está seguro? Pregunte a su supervisor antes de tocar la máquina.
Use the left and right arrow keys. Home shows the first draft. End shows the reviewed version.
Showing both versions one above the other.
- Term: "lockout" is bloqueo, as in bloqueo y etiquetado, not cierre
- Terms: a machine guard is a guarda, not a guardia (a security guard); "power" is energía, not potencia
- "The disconnect" is the switch: interruptor de desconexión
- Tone: shorter, direct commands
